Ms. Anne Buvé, M.D., M.Sc. Ph.D. Epidemiologist (º1953)

• Research on the epidemiology of HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections; prevention research; evaluation of health services and health programmes; operational research.
• Since 2001 Anne Buvé is head of the STD/HIV Research and Intervention Unit of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, which was formerly headed by Prof. Marie Laga.
• She has collaborative research projects with several research groups in Europe, Africa and South East Asia.
• Anne Buvé was one of the founders of HERA in 1990.
• She has worked as DMO in Zambia and Sierra Leone and has acquired research experience in several African countries including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. She has also acquired some experience in Cambodia and Thailand.
